Bakery Driver

Deliver bread in your own vehicle (must be a minivan).

The Abigail’s Oven Company:  

Grain brain, wheat belly, gluten intolerance or cardboard flavor? Are you another victim of modern commercial bread?  At Abigail’s Oven we’re participating in a social revolution in the way bread is made and eaten.  At the same time we’re interested in training social-entrepreneurs prepared to help improve the world.

The Position: We’re looking for 2 Contract Bakery Drivers with their own minivan to deliver bread.  Route 1 covers Utah & Salt Lake Valleys and Route 2 delivers bread from our Spanish Fork bakery to Las Vegas.  Vehicles need good air conditioning.  Pay starts at $2,600 per month.  This amount includes a $1,040 stipend,  which a driver could choose to put toward: $680 gas, $60 tires, $50 oil, $200 vehicle, and $50 insurance to assist with a portion of regular monthly expenses.

Bread needs to be picked up in Spanish Fork on Monday & Thursday evenings and brought back down to Cedar City.  The next morning (Tuesday & Friday mornings) the bread route would begin at 6 am from Cedar City.  Total hours approximately 32 hours per week.

  • Steady up-front hours with solid pay.

Requirements:

  • Must be punctual, dependable, positive, work well with others, and have good attention to detail.
  • Must be a law-abiding, careful driver, with car insurance and your own dependable vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • The following days are required, part-time: Tuesdays & Fridays.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, load, maintain your own vehicle.
  • Deliver bread to stores.
  • Stock displays with bread, samples, and promotional materials.
  • Track and report sales and returns.

The Location: Abigail’s Oven is based in Spanish Fork, Utah.  Our bakery is right across from the County Fairgrounds.

Learn entrepreneurship, develop skills and knowledge in positive societal impact to supplement your formal schooling.  The “Social Change-U” program allows 

  • Out-of-the-box entrepreneurial training
  • Learn how to improve society through high leverage techniques
  • Opportunities for social-entrepreneurial ventures and/or positions in the J&A Institute For Social Change
  • Love of liberal arts education, human nature, international affairs, cultural and domestic trends, etc.
